Beacons are transmitters that can be detected by mobile devices, and more specifically, by one of the apps running on a device. When your visitor enters a defined area, they can be prompted to access a site, or can be alerted to any other messages like finding the gift shop, visitors center, or to take advantage of a discount. The beacons utilize low-powered technology and can avoid draining the battery on the mobile device.
